What is it with some people? Why do some folks have to belong to everything? There is a Woman’s Pro Golf Curcuit now, but I don’t think I’m going to just show up and demand to play. I guess it would make the news, but it just isn’t my cup of tea.
Nine women threw a party on the St. Lawrence river yesterday, and made themselves priests. Heck, I always thought that there was a little more to it than that, but I am not Catholic, so I could be mistaken.
I usually don’t broach religion, but this story has me stupified. (For those of you in college, it means I just don’t get it.) What is it that makes people stay in a religious order that doesn’t give them what they want? The Catholic faith states that the Pope is the man, the guy who talks to the Almighty. While I don’t believe this for a second, that’s what their little book says to those of that church. Since the Pope says “No Women Priests”, and by being Catholic these women are supposed to respect the church’s authorities, what gives? If you don’t like the rules, start your own church.
I would go out on a limb to say that these women make pretty poor Catholics. They are full of themselves, and want what they want. Once again, our youth are being shown in the press how not to carry themselves. No doubt these ‘brave’ women will be exalted by the left, as they try to undo yet another religious organization.
I kind of equate this with some grandmother standing up in a bingo hall, and deciding she doesn’t need any of the B’s. They would ask her once to sit down, then they would kick her out. I mean, rules are rules. But this is the Catholic church, who just let one of their members change the definition of marriage for 30 million plus, and didn’t even budge. No wonder its members laugh at its ordinances.
If you don’t believe in something, no one will believe in you. People can spot a fake from miles.
I think I’m gonna go down and sign up for Girl Guides. Catch you tomorrow.
